...PROLONGED SNOWFALL EXPECTED TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT... .Snow has reached the I-35 corridor and will continue to move eastward through the overnight. Light to moderate snow will continue for a prolonged period from tonight through Saturday night. Areas along and south of Interstate 90 are expected to receive at least 6 inches of snowfall with the highest amounts favored in northeast Iowa and far southwest Wisconsin, where 8 to 12 inches of snow are expected. Heaviest snowfall rates are expected Saturday afternoon over northeast Iowa and southwest Wisconsin, approaching 1 inch per hour at times. Snowfall tapers off west to east late Saturday night through Sunday morning. Winds will increase Saturday evening and a period of blowing snow may occur west of the Mississippi River. * WHAT...Heavy snow expected.
